Meet the Owner

Hi there! My name is Shelby and I am the owner and operator of Sunny Day Event Co LLC! I live and work in Lawrence, Kansas with my spunky daughter Beckett and my ten-year-old dog Billie. To give you more of an idea of who you’re working with when you book Sunny Day for your balloons I will give you 3 fun facts about me:

1. I love spaghetti more than any other food on the planet

2. I have visited 6 different countries around the world and have a laundry list of more I want to see

3. I have watched the TV show The Office more times than I can count

I moved to Lawrence with my daughter and dog in 2021 and have loved being in this charming town. I do have to admit though, I went to Kansas State University, but I am slowly becoming a Jayhawk fan. I graduated from K-State in 2019 with an art history degree and a minor in communication studies, which has made me passionate about color, design, and how they affect our lives in more ways than we realize. I decided to move us to Lawrence for a fresh start and I have been so thankful I made that decision!

For my daughter’s first few birthdays I played around with balloon decor and after putting together the decor for her second birthday, I was hooked. I have always loved to make people smile so I decided to open a company that allows me to do that through balloons, parties, and events!
