Behind the Scenes - Part 1: Meet the Owner
This blog series will highlight the behind-the-scenes inner workings of this sunny balloon business! I thought I would start out by introducing myself as the owner and operator of Sunny Day Event Co., the person behind every single blown-up balloon and email that you receive!
To start out, I must say that I love events. I love celebrating people and being a part of their special events, so balloons have become my way of celebrating everyone that comes into my life! I have worked with balloons since 2020 and have been sharpening my skills ever since. I have taken numerous classes and trainings to get better at balloon design because let me tell you, my first balloon garland was crap. Now that I have a sense of what I am doing, it is my mission to make beautiful balloon and event decor attainable and convenient for Lawrence, KS residents and beyond!
So that you can know a little bit more about who you are working with when you work with Sunny Day, here are a few fun facts about me:
I tore both my ACL’s in high school
Spaghetti is my all-time favorite food
I have watched the TV show The Office more times than I can possibly count
I have a 4-year-old daughter named Beckett who is as spunky as ever!
My knees are absolutely shot as a result of those tears, so please don’t challenge me to a foot race or a dance-off because I will inevitably break something else.
Events and parties bring me so much joy, so it seemed only natural that I would go into the event industry in some way. Balloons have always brought me joy, and to see the joy that they bring to others lights my soul on fire!
